Frequently Asked Questions
Illustration FAQs
-
I love illustrating venues, homes, and flowers & greenery. I will be working on developing a pet illustration service this year as well!
Currently, I do not illustrate people, nor do I offer live wedding paintings. But if you’re looking for that, I know several local pros I can refer you to!
-
Soft pastels is a dry, chalky medium that produces romantic drawings with bold, crisp colors. Almost all of my illustrations are done in pastels. Once completed, I seal the illustration to prevent smudging and preserve it for years to come!
-
That depends! A 5” × 7” illustration takes about 2-3 weeks, and a 8” x 10” illustration takes 4-5 weeks.
This timeline is in addition to a wedding invitation order, so please plan accordingly! -
Due to the long hours a custom pastel illustration requires, a commission piece starts at $500.
-
Absolutely! My existing venue illustrations can be added to your invitation or wedding day stationery order, or you may purchase items featuring the illustration separately.

Yes! You may purchase a print or other gift item here.

Yes! A personal license for a digital copy of my venue illustrations is $150. Send me an email at megan@camelliamemories.com if you’re interested!
-
Most of my illustrations are done in pastels. However, I also offer graphite illustrations if you’re looking for a black and white aesthetic.
If cost is a concern for wedding invitation clients, I also offer digital artwork for venue illustrations, which starts at $150. However, this option is only available for clients who also purchase wedding invitations with me.

Wedding Invitation FAQs
-
My minimum order is 20 invitations.
-
Semi-Custom Invitations: You choose one of my available invitation designs, and then I tailor it to fit your style and wedding. This may include changing fonts, font colors, adding an illustration, or other add-ons like wax seals, envelope liners, etc.
Custom Invitations: I design an original invitation from scratch for you, which often includes custom artwork or a monogram. This is a great option for couples with a specific vision in mind or who want a bespoke experience. -
That depends! If you choose my semi-custom option, then plan for about 5-6 weeks. If you choose my custom design option, then plan for about 10-12 weeks.
I always send a project timeline at the start of your project with due dates for submitting your wedding information and guest addresses. Please have this information ready by my specified dates in order to keep your project on track. Please also respond to proofs, questionnaires, and signature requests within 2-3 business days. Missing due dates and delaying responses longer than 3 days may slow the overall project timeline. -
I accept credit card payments and PayPal. Mailed checks are also accepted, although the check must clear before work begins.
-
No design work will begin without completing the payment terms specified in your contract. To get a feel for my work, please view my invitations or book a consultation.
-
A proof is a preview of your invitation. You will receive a form containing digital previews of your invitation pieces so that you can proofread the design and wording. If you have changes you would like to see, you will have the opportunity to request up to three revisions via a reply email.
You may ask for multiple changes during one revision. For instance, you may ask to change the wording and the font. Once I make those edits and resend the updated proof, one revision will be considered used.
Semi-Custom Invitations have one proof with 3 rounds of revisions.Custom Invitations have 3 proofs–one for the invitation, one for the insert cards, and one with a final mock-up–with 3 rounds of revisions each.
If you opt to have your guest addresses printed on your envelopes, then a the proof is sent as a PDF via email. Guest address proofs come with 3 rounds of revisions that are separate from the invitation proof. -
Proofs will be emailed to you via your preferred email. This email will provide you with a link to open and view your proof. You will be asked to sign off on your final proof before production begins.
-
A revision is a minor change or adjustment to the proof, such changes to the wording, fonts, colors of vector elements (not full illustrations), and small adjustments to the layout. All of my wedding invitations come with three rounds of revisions on each proof.
A redesign is a significant overhaul to the design, such as a new design concept, a re-draw of an illustration, or any change that requires the design to be redone from scratch. Redesigns only apply to my custom invitation service option and are not included in the base price, but may be purchased if needed.

Stationery items that require gluing arrive assembled for no additional charge. Full assembly of your invitations into the mailing envelopes with sealing and stamping may be included upon request as an optional add-on.
At this time, I do not offer mailing services at the post office. But I do provide all my clients with tips and best practices when mailing their invitations! -
While you may always reorder copies of your designs, additional quantities will count as a second order and may be subject to handling fees due to the minimums that my professional printers require. Therefore, it is best to order extras from the beginning rather than order more later.
-
Of course! Both my wedding invitations and save the dates can be tweaked for a different event. Just let me know what you’re looking for!
Wedding Day Stationery FAQ
-
Wedding day stationery includes any wedding paper product that is used on the wedding day itself. This may include (but isn’t limited to) wedding signage, table numbers, place cards, menus, programs, napkins, etc. Check out my wedding day stationery packages!
-
Welcome signs, guest book signs, reserve table signs, and bar signs are the most popular types of wedding signage. However, I can make a sign for any purpose that you like!
Most larger signs are produced on foam board, while smaller signs (8” x 10”) are produced on cardstock. But I do offer upgrades to acrylic, wood, canvas, or even metal!
-
That depends on your project. Most only takes about 3 weeks. But if you’re looking for an upgrade from foam board and cardstock, then the timeline varies.
I recommend inquiring about wedding day stationery no later than two months before the wedding. -
If your wedding is taking place in the New Orleans area, I am happy to deliver your wedding day items to your venue. That way, you don’t have to worry about dropping it off in the days before your wedding!
If your wedding is outside of New Orleans, I would be happy to arrange a delivery with your venue.
-
Of course! If you purchase your wedding invitations with me, that is. If you purchase your wedding invitations elsewhere, I will do my best to mimic your invitations, although I cannot guarantee an exact match.
-
Yes! I work with vendors that offer hundreds of gift items. If you have something specific in mind, let me know!
