Sarah and Rande chose to begin their married lives together before God in Sarah’s childhood church: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville, Louisiana. Surrounded by a chic bridal party dressed in black and carrying white flowers, Sarah and Rande said “I do.”
Family and personalized touches were important to Sarah, so we began her custom-made invitation with a focus on her church. I visited the church to take pictures for a venue illustration and to gather ideas for a custom monogram. I wanting to deliver something meaningful in the monogram's design, so I took inspiration from the church's archictecture. The shield and floral elements in the monogram were based on the stonework above the church's entryway. The monogram quickly became the center of the invitation design, and Sarah loved it so much that she asked to imprint it with gold foil.
Overall, we kept the invitation design simple and sophisticated. We used an elegant script font for Sarah and Rande's names, also imprinted in gold foil. The rest of the type was printed in crisp black ink on white cardstock to match the wedding’s black and white theme.
Finally, the custom monogram was included on Sarah and Rande’s programs and thank you notes. We added a second photo-to-watercolor image of the church on the program, which welcomed the guests to the wedding and provided an outline of the ceremony.
Once the church ceremony was over, Sarah and Rande celebrated with friends and family at Benedict’s Plantation, a sweet reception hall styled like a southern home.
